The Diocese of Kilmore is recruiting for the position of Diocesan Property Administrator.
6-month initial contract working 8 hours per week (flexible) initially (with possibility of increase in hours).
This post will be based in the diocesan office in Cavan town and will require some travel. The position will require an understanding of diocesan property, its current and future requirements.
The main duties of the Diocesan Property Administrator will include:
- Ensure land and property is properly maintained for diocesan trust properties (to include houses, land, avenues and driveways). Also, respond to incidents of damage to diocesan property.
- Ensure legal agreements are in place and up to date for all properties and land (eg. rental or lease agreements).
- Engage on behalf of the Diocese and Diocesan bodies with legal and professional bodies such as solicitors, estate agents and auctioneers and insurance company as necessary to ensure property is adequately managed.
- Keep up to date with all current and proposed legislation which may affect the diocese. Make the Bishop, the Diocesan Secretary and all relevant bodies aware of any such legislation and make recommendations on appropriate action.
- Engage with tenants of land and properties to ensure legal agreements are adhered to and deal with any issues that may arise from tenants. Ensure that the buildings are in a safe, sustainable and clean condition.
- Liaise with the diocesan office in relation to grant funding available for the upkeep of certain diocesan properties.
- Provide updates, reports and support to the Bishop of Kilmore, the Diocesan Secretary and relevant connected committees on an ongoing basis and at scheduled meetings.
Essential Qualities of Candidate:
- Must have excellent communication skills and be well organised.
- Have decision making and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work on their own initiative.
- Relevant experience in real estate and/or property management essential.
- Full clean drivers’ licence and own transport required.
- Must be garda vetted for the Diocese of Kilmore.
Desirable Qualities of Candidate:
- 3rd Level qualification (eg. Project management/business)
